Saint James School is a member of the AHSAA (Alabama High School Athletic Association) and competes in class 4-A, with the exception of volleyball, which competes in the 6-A category.

The athletic program is student-centered and an integral part of the students’ educational experience. Athletics encourages the development of physical fitness, leadership, teamwork, social skills, discipline, integrity, decision-making, good citizenship, and good sportsmanship. Saint James School employs Encore™ sports medicine and athletic training services to keep our athletes healthy, safe, and at their top performance level.

Saint James School senior cheerleader, Taylor Potts, has been named Montgomery County's Distinguished Young Woman for 2023. Taylor also received the preliminary talent award. Senior Anna Dickey was named second runner up.

The 21-22 STJ Volleyball Team, led by Coach Karen Lee, was honored with the prestigious USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award; given by the US Marine Corps, in conjunction with AVCA, to volleyball teams that maintain a year-long gpa of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. A big congrats to all!
